If you have a group interested in continuing education, WSMT can customize a class to meet your specific needs. Simply give us a call to arrange the details. We require a minimum of 6 participants, with payment due within 7 days of scheduling the class.
Continuing Education Opportunities
Cupping is an ancient healing technique and now used in Massage Therapy to aid with reducing muscle tension and pain, increasing fluid movements, and possibly increasing ROM. In this class, you will learn how to apply cupping and how cupping can benefit your clients. Practice with different sizes and types of cups including silicone, plastic, glass, manual, and suction. You will receive cups to take home and start practicing right away!
Apply TodayYou will learn a general lymphatic massage designed for clients who want to relax while supporting their immune system. This gentle technique facilitates flow in the body’s superficial lymphatic structures. (Note: This class does not give you medical training in manual lymphedema management techniques for post-surgical or other medical conditions.)
Apply TodayThis class gives you 8 continuing education hours in which you will review anatomy and physiology including the musculoskeletal, nervous, and digestive systems. You will learn self-care and relaxation techniques to enhance your skeletal muscle mobility as well as fascial pliability through exploring exercise techniques using various modalities including balls and stretch straps. You will also learn how to best serve your clients by gaining a better understanding of viscera including how the diaphragm and pelvic floor are connected and how stressed intestines my lead to forward head posture. Learn how to utilize tools to scrape the skin in Gua Sha class. This ancient form of Traditional Chinese Medicine is used to move energy (qi) in the body to reduce tension.
